Willy's Wonderland is a gratifying, entertaining experience from start to finish

(Image courtesy of kakuchopurei.com) Willy's Wonderland is such a gratifying, entertaining experience from start to finish that it immediately propels the movie into the halls of similar great action, horror comedies with an extremely high re-watch value. When Willy's Wonderland was first announced, we waited with baited breath thinking it would be another slow-burner Nicholas Cage horror movie   like Color Out of Space or Mandy . But surprisingly, it wasn't. The movie straddled the territory of medium and fast-paced action sequences with a good amount of humor thrown into it and paired with a serving of off-screen deaths and blood for taste. The movie is directed by Kevin Lewis (Braven) and stars Nicholas Cage, Emily Tosta, Beth Grant, David Sheftel, Ric Reitz, Chris Warner, Kai Kadlec, Caylee Cowan, Terayle Hill, Christian Del Grosso, Jonathan Mercedes and Grant Cramer. Aside from Nic Cage and Beth Grant, the cast is made up of relatively unknown people or entertainers wi

Saka Nan Sepi is Malaysian horror comedy done right... sort of

A few hits and misses, but relatively alright (image courtesy of myinfotaip.com) Astro First has delivered a lot of good local movies. Compared to Astro Citra, Astro First is a somewhat go-to channel for new, properly produced movies that are entertaining and have had a lot of thought put into it before release. Saka Nan Sepi is produced by Astro Shaw and directed by directing-duo Azri Azman and Razaisyam Rashid - which goes to show that two heads are better than one. At least there's accountability somewhere along the production process and we aren't fed with nauseating drivel like Miimaland.  The movie also stars established names like Namron, Syafiq Kyle, Sherry Alhadad and Mimi Lana which personally for us, made the movie far more entertaining than it should've been.  They complimented the movie better than the script ever could (image courtesy of myinfotaip.com) Saka Nan Sepi follows the story of a family of four, Othman (Namron), his new wife, Zaiton (Sherry Alhadad)

Miimaland is trash and no amount of Sophia Albarakbah could make it watchable

Good casting, but poorly written, directed and produced (Image courtesy of IMDB) First of all, before we go into the review for this movie, we just wanted to say, "What the actual fuck?" Did the studio hire a director straight out of college that came with a camera stuck to his dick and all he did was swing it around hoping it would capture some nice scenes? like what the fuck? We got fucking motion sickness watching this shit. I fucking got constipated sitting through this bullshit.  Miimaland stars Fattah Amin, Sophia Albarakbah, Camelia Natasya, Hazzy Alzeeq & Zalif Sidek and was directed by Nevin Hiong. We assume his father financed the entire production because how the hell can you hire someone to shoot a movie like this unless they were the paymaster?  And don't get me started on the writing or the post-production, because that shit was nasty. I'm surprised none of the actors got cancer after reading the script. Also, I hope there wasn't a premier and

44 Hari Bangkitnya Poh Kong: A typically forgettable Astro Citra movie

Image
(Image courtesy of Media Hiburan) This will be a relatively short review since there's nothing really interesting about it and we assume that the project was greenlit to financially benefit someone higher up, but don't quote us on that. Although, we constantly question who could possibly stand to benefit from low-quality, rushed, sub-par ideas released on pay-per-view. *Wink wink*  44 Hari Bangkitnya Pocong is a typical Astro Citra movie, meaning, it's low budget, terribly written and if we're being honest, entirely half-assed.  44 Hari (title's too long for me to want to type it out, so screw it. We're calling it 44 Hari) stars Riezman Khuzaimi, Kodi Rasheed, Anne Abdullah, Raja Shahiran and Ellie Suriaty who plays Maimon (or however it's spelled), a wife and mother who dies one day and who's spirit begins haunting the village residents.  The story is pretty standard. Maimon dies. Her son returns from Singapore to visit the wake of her mother when sudde
